This summer, on Saturday 17th June 12.30pm – 5pm, we’re organising the biggest neighbourhood celebrations since the Jubilee street parties. It’s called TheGreatGetTogether and we’d love you to be a part of it. Events are happening all over the country and is being organised in collaboration with the Jo Cox Foundation. See https://www.greatgettogether.org/about/
It will be happening at the bottom of Pollard Lane in Newlay/Bramley on the railway bridge and we have permission from West Yorkshire Police and Leeds City council to close the road to vehicles so we can erect tables.
We’re inviting people to get together with their neighbours to share food and celebrate all that we hold in common. Therefore we have organised a street party with live music from a local choir Turn up the Talent, a drumming workshop and folk band Rum Doodle. What matters is that we have fun and bring communities closer together.
So we invite you to:
Bring a dish (paper plates etc. provided)
Bring a neighbour
Bring a chair
and join us next Saturday afternoon. I hope you can make it.
