Pollard Lane Highway Works

Dear Resident

Advanced warning of highway works to Pollard Lane Leeds

As part of our footway and carriageway maintenance programme we intend to carry out works at the above location from Leeds and Bradford Road through to the River Aire.

The works will consist of firstly, repairs and slight improvements to the footways in certain areas only.  This work will be carried out using local traffic management of signing, coning and temporary traffic lights.  This work is planned to commence Monday 6th February for 3 weeks.

Following this the carriageway will be resurfaced.  Due to the width of the road this will have to be carried out with a road closure in place.  The intention is to carry out this work Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 and is provisionally programmed to commence Monday 20th March for approximately 2 weeks.  Unfortunately during this time there will be no vehicular access between Valley Rise and the River Aire bridge. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Outside the above working hours the road will be open as normal.

Please note that due to the resurfacing process with plant and equipment there will be no scope for letting residents in or out of the area including deliveries etc. It is our intention to speak to cleansing regarding refuse collection and Royal Mail on postal deliveries to try and get these done outside the closure times. Metro Access bus will also not be available during the above periods.

In the event of emergency services being called we will quickly allow them access even though it will mean having to replace any ruined surfacing and loss of materials.

Please consider how the following may affect you over the period, for example, doctor and hospital appointments, picking up children, builder/house maintenance works, moving house, etc. As work progresses past the recreation fields toward Leeds and Bradford Road more opportunities will be available as the road widens out to gain access, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Yours faithfully

Lee Spencer
