First of all thank you to everyone who came to the Joe Cox – The Great Get Together Street Party on Pollard Lane earlier this month. Everyone says they had a great time and we think we achieved our goal of bringing our community from both sides of the river a little closer together. Thanks especially to Turn up the Talent, Rum Doddle and our Drummers for providing live music.
This Saturday we will be holding an activity in Bramley Fall Woods to continue our 7 year campaign to reduce the amount of Himalayan Balsam weeds in the woods. They are a menace because they compete with the natural fauna and especially the bluebells so part of the reason we have such a fantastic bluebell display is because we control the balsam.
We’ll meet Saturday 1st July at 10am in the changing rooms car park on Pollard Lane and everyone is welcome. We usually are all finished about 12 noon. All you need to do i
s wear suitable clothing for pulling up the weeds. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
We hope you can make it and make our bluebells even better 🙂
